Update: Man Killed In Route 17 Crash Identified

A Woodridge New York resident traveling at high speed was ejected and killed after colliding with several vehicles Wednesday night.

Investigators are attempting to determine if the victim of a fatal car accident on Route 17 lost control of his vehicle due to reckless driving, health, or other issues on Wednesday just before 10 p.m.

David Fulton, a 30-year old of Woodridge, NY was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics from Valley Hospital in Ridgewood. The grey 2007 Dodge Ram pickup truck could be seen on its side in the the roadway, its front end shredded. A body was covered by a yellow tarp nearby.

Witnesses told authorities Fulton was driving his pickup truck at a high rate of speed along Route 17 south and struck the rear of a 2009 Nissan near the Garden State Parkway. The driver of the Nissan, a 25 year old female from Pomona, NY, who was not identified, was not injured.

Paramus police, fire and EMS reported to the scene. All lanes of Route 17 south remained closed and reopened at 4:50 a.m.

The Bergen County Prosecutors Office Fatal Accident Unit and Paramus Police are still investigating the accident.
