NJASK Scores Show Slight Improvements at Paramus Middle Schools

As the charts below show, each schools' academic performance has been ranked against its peer group and also against the state. Schools no longer are ranked by district factor groups they are now put into peer groups made up of other schools with similiar class size and other demographics.

East Brook and West Brook are ranked in different peer groups therefore each school's peer rank percentile can not be compared with the other.

However against the state both schools have a simliar rank in the area of language arts proficiency. In math proficiency the schools differ somewhat when compared with the state - West Brook ranks 67 percent above others in the state while East Brook ranks 82 percent above other schools in the state.

There was little or no change from school year 2010-2011 to 2011-2012 in the areas of language arts and math at both East Brook and West Brook.

In the science portion of the test, which is given to Grade 8 students, both schools showed a significant increase of students who scored above proficient.
