Paramus Borough Hall to Reopen, More Businesses Get Power Back

Mayor reports borough hall will reopen by Friday, some more businesses reopen and Paramus Rescue Squad Halloween party will be rescheduled soon.

As power is restored to some areas around Paramus, some more businesses have come back to life but many still remain in the dark.

Mayor Richard LaBarbiera reports that Paramus Borough Hall should reopen on Friday.

Schools will remain closed for the remainder of the week and residents should be reminded that Board of Education candidates night is cancelled for Thursday night.

Parents should take note that the SAT test which was scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 3 has been canceled and rescheduled for Saturday, Nov. 17 reports Daura Schucker, counselor at Paramus High School and SAT supervisor.

Paramus Park Mall announced Thursday it would remain closed for the day. As per the mall's Facebook page "PSE&G is offering water and ice to anyone in need in the Paramus Park parking lot near the Crown Plaza Hotel."

Many businesses on Route 4 are announcing they have reopened such as  Houlihan's on Route 4 West announced it's open and has free WiFi available.

BUCU, burger bar and bakery has also reopened and has free WiFi.

DCH Paramus Honda on Route 4 West reopened Thusday.

Massage Envy at Bergen Town Center announced via Facebook it has reopened Thursday.

Garden State Plaza reopened earlier this week and has also been serving as a charging center for those in the county in need. It was also reported that Paramus High School cafeteria would serve as a charging center from 10 a.m to 4 p.m. Thursday.

Halloween trick-or-treating was cancelled on Wednesday as per a message from the mayor it's to take place on Saturday. Meanwhile the Paramus Rescue Squad's annual Halloween party which was originally scheduled for Oct. 31 is in the process of rescheduled. Patch will update once more information is available.
