Paramus Mini Golf Readying For Spring Opening

Mini-golf course should be open in time for spring break

Very soon the Paramus miniature golf course will be bustling with activity once again as the new season gets underway.

Preparations for the new season are almost complete as workers are getting the course ready to open maybe even as early as April 15, says Virginia Quinn, manager. The projected opening date is April 22 just in time for spring break, says Quinn.

"We'll be perfectly back on track," says Quinn about getting the course open for the season.

The course suffered some minor damage when Superstorm Sandy ripped through the area last fall causing some of the fixtures to need repair and all will be put back in time for opening day, says Quinn.

The miniature golf course, which first opened in 2008 as part of the borough's main golf course on Paramus Road, has a fun New Jersey theme throughout.

Golf players will see familiar NJ-born faces such as Bruce Springsteen, Yogi Bearra, Frank Sinatra and Danny DeVito.

Towards the back is the Jersey Shore, a full beach scene which Quinn says was originally painted by Paramus High School students.

The Statue of Liberty replica stands proudly at the center of a pond which sits in the middle of the course. One of the 18 holes features the George Washington Bridge, which lights up at night, and Paramus' Parkway exit 161 is of course also represented.

Quinn says it's a great place for families to enjoy seven days a week. They also accomodate birthday parties and have many groups come especially over the summer like day camps and senior citizens groups.

The course opens each day at 10:30 a.m. with the last game starting no later than 9 p.m. Cost is $6 for children and $8 for adults and they have Family 4 Monday for $20, says Quinn. For more information call 201-447-6079.
