Paramus To Host Wellness Day

Event scheduled for Sept. 25

Paramus will host its second annual Community Wellness Day on Sept. 25.

Roger Sahoury, who is organizing and speaking at the event, said the purpose is to educate the public on different facets of health, whether they be physical, financial or environmental.

"It's really about making a fun-filled family day," Sahoury said.

Sahoury's chiropractic office, , is one of the businesses scheduled to be at the event. Others include Best Buy, which will provide a Wii station and the , which is holding a karate demonstration.

Food will be provided by local stores like , and Moe's Southwest Grill, which is soon. Visitors can donate blood through the Blood Center of New Jersey and have their cholesterol checked.

For kids, there will be a bounce house and face painting. The Bergen County Sheriff's Office is expected to be on hand to fingerprint children.

Sahoury said he hoped the event would encourage people to take their health into their own hands.

"Our health care crisis isn't going to be solved in Washington, it's going to be solved by us as individuals," he said.

Community Wellness Day is scheduled for Sept. 25, from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m. at .
