Flood Watch Issued for Paramus Saturday

Be ready for possible heavy rain and flooding Saturday through early Sunday.

As a result of heavy rains expected Saturday, the National Weather Service issued a Flood Watch on Friday afternoon for most of Bergen County.

The Flood Watch is in effect from 11 a.m. Saturday morning through 6 a.m. Sunday. The heaviest rainfall is expected fall during the afternoon and evening on Saturday. Higher temperatures will cause most remaining snow or ice to melt, which will add to the flooding possibilities.

“Rainfall amounts from 1.5 – inches, with locally higher amounts of up to 2.5 inches, are likely to cause significant low lying and poor drainage flooding during the watch period,” reports the National Weather Service.
