Paramus Remembers Gabby During Annual Run

The 34th Annual Paramus Run was held on Sunday and the Reuveni family led the 5K race in daughter Gabby's honor

This year's Lou Lanzalotto Memorial 5k Run at the Terri Roemer Paramus Run was held in honor of PHS alum and local runner Gabrielle Reuveni, a 20-year old resident who was killed when she was struck by a drunk driver while jogging in July. Friends and Family turned out donning purple "Run for Gabby" shirts to participate in the race. Jacqueline Reuveni finished the 5K in 34:55.59 and husband Michael followed at 41:21.56.

Kyle Price of Milltown (16:12) was the top 5K men's finisher just barely beating out Paramus resident Andrew Capizzi (16:48). Thirteen-year-old Giavanna Tabbachino of Emerson (20:20) closed the gap between herself and Oradell's Janna Danbe (20:42) in the women's division.

Local residents Nicholas Paolazzi placed second (19:31) in the Master's Men, Motohiro Yamane (19:39) was first in the Female 35-39 group, Debbie Bessen (25:23) led the 45-49 group and Rhoda Conant (39:16) topped the 65-69 group. In the Marty Roemer 10K race, Sarah Cohen finished the 65-69 age group in 1:10.29.
