While fans might know him as the cute, yet mischievous "Little Pete" on the early 1990's Nickelodeon sitcom The Adventures of Pete and Pete, Danny Tamberelli is following a different passion these days.
The actor, who grew up in Wyckoff and graduated from Ramapo High School in 2000, has been in a band since 2003. Jounce, which tours the country, has an upcoming show in nearby Brooklyn, where Tamberelli now lives. Tamberelli plays bass and sings in the band.
“I’m passionate about acting, but this is what I was doing in the dressing room even then,” Tamberelli says of music on the band's website.
“It’s cool to do both, but music has always been my primary outlet.”
The band, which also features Quinn Blandford on drums and Matt DeSteno on guitar and vocals, released full-length albums in 2006 and 2009, and a put out a few digital song releases last summer in anticipation of a third album that will likely be out this year, Jounce says on its website.
According to a release, Jounce is planning an Earth Day Concert at the Brooklyn Bowl on April 22. The band will be recording the concert live, as they collect organic seeds to help a farm.
The show starts at 8 p.m. and tickets are $7.
“We’re excited to play a hometown show at one of our favorite venues in NY," Tamberelli, whose immediate family still lives in Wyckoff, said.
"Donating seeds...on Earth Day makes my green thumb tingle. When my green thumb tingles, it means it’s going to be a good show for sure."
