Forest Ave Gas Station Proposes Converting Garage into Retail Space

A Delta gas station, owned by Golden Fuels, as proposed changing its service garage into a convenience store

At a previous Paramus Board of Adjustment, Golden Fuels has proposed turning its Forest Avenue service garage into a convenience store and expanding its current two-pump station.

According to testimony by architect Gary Kliesch, the current station would be razed, the existing pumps moved further along the property, and the construction of a 1,738 square foot building, based on a report by Northjersey.com.

The new building, located about three feet from the northern property line, would house a convenience store. A convenience store is not a permitted use in the gas station's zone, so Golden Fuels is seeking a variance for the construction.

Also included in the proposed project is to construct three new filling pumps with a canopy and space for 10 parking spaces by the pumps. Another 12 parking spaces would be located next to the convenience store.

The station will only have access from Forest Avenue under the new plans which calls for the removal of Spring Valley Road driveway.
