Meet Your Four New Borough Council Candidates

There are no incumbents for the two open seats. Election Day is Tuesday. Get to know who your voting for.

Four new candidates have entered the race for the Paramus council this year.  

Republican council incumbents Ralph Amato and Eric Nazziola are not seeking re-election. Get to know a bit of background information on each of the new candidates. 

Michael Delamater - D
  • 28 Years of Age 
  • I have lived in Paramus for 21 years. 
  • My mother and father are both in public education. One is an administrator in Jersey City (formerly Passaic) and the other is a retired Jersey City School teacher. My sister Megan, 24, is an aide at East Brook Middle School. 
  • I have a Bachelor's in Political Science from Rutgers and Post-Graduate coursework in History at William Paterson University.
  • Bergen County Young Democrats, applying to be an NLC (New Leadership Council) Fellow.

Carol Daniele - D

  • 51 Years of Age
  • Lived in Paramus since 1999
  •  I live here with my two sons, Michael age 15 and Joey age 13; who both attend Paramus High School and EastBrook, respectively.  Both my sons are on the honor roll and active in sports.  Michael played on the Little League team that won the State Championship in 2011; both boys have placed in the NJ State Youth Wrestling Competitions. Joey is active in the Boys Scouts, Paramus Troop #205.  My husband, Douglas, had worked for Honda of Tenafly for 22 years and was one of the top salesmen in the country.  He was victim in a fatal motor vehicle accident in 2011.  We had been married for 15 years and moved to Paramus after our first son was born because of the welcoming community and wonderful reputation of the school system.
  • I attended Moravian College and The Katharine Gibbs School focusing on Business Administration, Management and Marketing. I also attended the NY School of Visual Arts.

Stephen J. Sullivan - R
  • I have lived in Paramus for over 50 years. 
  • Married to Donna Sullivan and 2 children Bryan and Krista.
  • I have two years of college.
  • The Paramus Republican Club,  the Paramus Scholarship Show, and the Paramus Pancreatic Cancer Research Walk
Jeanne T. Weber - R 
  • 71 Years of Age
  • Lived in Paramus for 42 Years
  • I am the mother of three children who all graduated from the Paramus School System and earned college degrees.  My husband, Ron Weber was a 12 year member of the Paramus Board of Education, serving two years as president and was a basketball and baseball coach in town.  I was an active member of Spring Valley, Memorial, Eastbrook and the High School PTAs and served as President of Spring Valley PTA and Recording Secretary at Eastbrook.    As the children grew, my community involvement expanded into chairing the Paramus Scholarship Show and working as their chief fundraiser for the past 35 years.  I also serve on the Paramus Ethics Committee, I am Recording Secretary for the Paramus Republican Club, District 3 County Committee Woman and serve on the Mayor’s Substance Abuse Prevention committee.  In 2007 I established and now continue to chair the Paramus Pancreatic Cancer Walk to raise research money.
  • I am a graduate of Berkley College.
