Guidetti Sworn in as PPD's Deputy Chief

Robert Guidetti was sworn in as Deputy Chief of the Paramus Police Department by Mayor Rich LaBarbiera on Tuesday evening. Guidetti thanked the chiefs he has worked for, the union and most of all his family.

Paramus Police Captain Robert Guidetti officially took the oath of office Tuesday night in front of a packed house and became Paramus Police Department’s new Deputy Chief.

If this sounds familiar, that’s because it is. Guidetti was appointed as the Paramus Police Department’s Captain in June, after serving as Lieutenant for seven years. Guidetti is in his 27th year with the Paramus Police Department.

“[Guidetti] is truly Paramus,” said Councilman Ralph Amato. “He is a complete police professional and I’m so happy to see his appointment as Paramus Deputy Chief. I wish him and his family well.”

When asked if he was ready for the position and if he looked forward to it, Guidetti kept it short and sweet and addressed his answer to the community.

“I’m committed to the borough and I promise you the service you deserve.”
