The Borough of Paramus is holding its 3rd annual Winter Carnival and Tree Lighting on Sunday afternoon at Jockish Square outside between the Police Department and Borough Hall.
The event will feature:
- Carnival rides for younger and older children
- Food, coffee, hot chocolate
- Music – Choir from local schools
- Face Painting
- Santa Claus
- And more
Local events like these can have a big impact on bringing a community together and keeping local families in touch. The one down side is the financial cost to the community. But here in Paramus, thanks to event organizers, the borough will not have to shell out a single dime for the event. Local businesses have stepped up to sponsor the event so there will be no cost to the borough and no cost to guests.
That’s right. Put the kids on some rides, grab a coffee, listen to the local choir and snap a photo with Santa without ever taking your wallet out.
“It’s no cost to the public to come in play the games, go on the rides and see Santa Claus,” said event organizer Dennis Arslanian. “Not a penny will be collected from anyone. In fact, the only thing that will be collected will be at a Toys for Tots booth run by the police department.”
The event will run from 2 – 6 p.m. and the tree lighting is set for 4:30 p.m.
Parking will be available at Paramus High School and guests can either walk or catch a shuttle ride over to the carnival.
