This weekend Ace Antonio and Brian Doughty, EMTs from the , spoke to Paramus Girl Scout Troop 94152 about basic first aid.
As part of earning their Brownie First Aid Try It badge, the girls got advice about the importance of calling 911 in an emergency and what they need to say to get help. Ace and Brian taught the girls how to treat minor injuries, while giving them tips about staying safe. The EMTs also answered lots of thoughtful and intuitive questions from the second-grade girls.
The girls enjoyed a tour of an ambulance, which was certainly a highlight of the time they spent together with two generous PVAC volunteers. A big thank you to Ace and Brian for all that you do for your community and more personally for giving up a Friday night to educate a group of grateful 7- and 8-year-old Brownies.
