Paramus Police Probe Possible Pellet Gun Shooting at Mall

Woman suffered possible pellet gun wound while she was walking at the Garden State Plaza on New Year's Eve.

Paramus detectives are investigating the mysterious injury of a woman at the Garden State Plaza parking lot on New Year’s Eve. It was determined that the injury was “possibly consistent with a pellet-gun or firearm wound,” explained Paramus Police Chief Kenneth Ehrenberg.

The 23-year old female victim told detectives, while seeking treatment at Hackensack University Medical Center, that she had been walking with two female friends when she felt something hit her chest.

After getting in their vehicle and leaving the parking lot the victim noticed that she had a small wound on her chest. The victim and her friends reported that they hadn’t seen or heard anything during the incident.

“The parking lot was crowded at the time of the event. Detectives canvassed the parking area and several surround locations with negative results,” said Ehrenberg in a release. “Detectives returned today to conduct further review of surveillance video from several locations. There is no further information available at this time.”
