Gov. Chris Christie and would-be governor Barbara Buono are scheduled to appeal to elderly voters as they converge on a senior citizen event Tuesday in Paramus.
The event, hosted by The Bergen County Division of Senior Services, will offer a free lunch with entertainment that includes music, dancing and a craft fair to seniors from all Bergen County municipalities. Festivities will be held from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
The annual picnic dates back to 1967, according to county officials.
Christie leads Buono by 20 points according to the latest Rutgers-Eagleton poll.
There’s a silver lining in that news for Buono, however. The Democrat has narrowed Christie’s lead in the New Jersey Governor's race from a high of 42 percent in February.
