New Jersey Governor Chris Christie has been running things for quite some time, but it’s all been in the political realm.
But could he run a sports team?
The two-term Republican governor sat in with WFAN radio’s Boomer & Carton morning show Friday, and said, “I would love to be general manager of the Mets,” according to the radio station’s website.
Christie said if current general manager Sandy Alderson left the team, he’d “be happy to go right now if they needed me.”
The governor is an unabashed Mets fan and played baseball himself at Livingston High School. The New York Mets are currently in fourth place in the National League East division and have not made the playoffs since 2006.
