Just last week during a debate with Sen. Barbara Buono, Gov. Chris Christie said the following:
"If my children came to me and said they were gay I would grab them and hug them and tell them I love them," Christie said. "I would also tell them that your dad believes that marriage is between one man and one woman."
Christie dropped his fight against same-sex marriages Monday.
Paramus Mayor Richard LaBarberia said that he hadn’t heard of any requests for same-sex marriages to be performed yet, but that the borough would obey with the new legislation.
“Obviously, as with anything else, we will comply with the law,” said LaBarberia. “Regardless of whether or not it is accepted, we live in a society where there are laws and as an elected official I’m responsible to abide by them.”
