Paramus Hires Two Quality of Life Officers

Paramus has hired two part-timers who will set out to make sure properties are maintained and existing ordinances are met in town.

These quality of life officers will have the authority to issue summonses and enforce existing ordinances.

The governing body introduced the position this past May. Mayor Richard LaBarbiera had stressed that there was a huge need for this in the borough.

The officers will monitor things such as overgrown grass on properties, outdoor dining rules and after hours issues like garbage pails being put out too early.

The officers - Daniel McGillis and Louis Romano- were hired at hourly wages based on experience.
